Back in the early part of the first decade of this millennium Lynton Guest and Aurora Menon, as Sheila was then called) ran a series of wine investment scams. Two of their companies - Ashley White Ltd and Harley Fine Wines Ltd - were closed down in the public interest in London's High Court on 7.2.2001 and 25.8.2001 respectively following petitions by the Insolvency Service. Guest and Menon were wanted for questioning by The Insolvency Service in London. Possibly Guest and Menon went into hiding as The Insolvency Service had trouble finding them.
Aurora Menon was also involved in Stanley Knight Ltd (founded 2.11.98 and dissolved 22.10.02). Later she set up as a sole trader with Frazer & D'Ivoire, another wine investment scam, which has long since disappeared.
Before he took up wine investment scams Lynton Guest found fame as the keyboard player with The LoveAffair, who had a big hit with Everlasting Love in 1968. Illness forced Guest to leave the music industry and he wrote several books on football.
In November 2008 I was contacted by Ian H an old boyfriend of Sheila Menon, who was sure that the Sheila Menon he knew in the 1980s and 1990s was the fraudster Aurora Menon. Furthermore she had now reinvented herself as Sheila Menon, a clinical hypnotist based in Malaysia. In 2008 Google searches brought up listings for an Aurora Menon offering hypnosis with a claimed qualification and experience from the 'Basford Hospital' in Nottingham:

'Not sure if you are the person to tell, but could not easily find another link. Looking for an old friend/ex girlfriend I found many references to Aurora Menon and just much the Offical Receiver would like her to contact them. The site also asks if any has been in contact with her.
I knew her as Sheila Menon - Aurora being a name she started using when we parted. She now has a new life as Sheila Menon, principal of the London College of Clinical Hypnosis (LCCH) Asia-Australia and based in Malaysia (her country of origin, although she does have a UK passport) on the strength of what appears to be a rather dodgy c.v. I have been in contact with her briefly and her side of the story puts all the blame on Lynton Guest and herself as the poor dupe. Looking at the Claret Web comments, and having known her for 16 years, that would seem unlikely.
As I said, not sure if you are anything to do with this but I felt I ought to tell somebody - not right to be able to walk away from your responsibilities so easily.

'I contacted her through the LCCH (Malaysia) website via email a couple of times. She is no longer in contact with me and the email address has been deactivated. Under the LCCH website (http://www.hypnosis-malaysia.com/aboutus.htm) Faculty button the following appears as her online c.v:

'Sheila worked a social worker in a variety of places often in children’s homes (I did some voluntary work with her in Nottingham). Embellishment would probably be the explanation for the impressive C.V. - she never expressed of showed any interest in hypnotherapy when I knew her.
In 1985 she moved with me to the I.O.M. and worked as a social worker - before we left on two years backpacking around the world. We returned in 87 and she continued doing low level social working - and hated it. She followed me into the IT world becoming a programmer working for Blackadder at Butlers Wharf. In 88 we split up and I lost touch with her. She left with a man called Bloynan - and called herself Aurora Bloynan. She says she was involved in some businesses run by him including several legal battles.
She studied at practical business school - LENTA (Snow Hill). She got involved with Kaballah - and goes on at some length about it. She says she gave up on IT and was learning Investment Insurance during this period. She became very ill, going down to 6st 6lb with a mysterious illness. She says Lynton believes Bloynan tried to poison her. They left Hampshire and went to live in the Trough of Bowland (near Lancaster). She visited London to do the odd talk or course - weird stuff, astral travel and Kaballah stuff. During this time she says she did a first certificate in Hypnosis with LCCH about 1990-93? Not 1982 etc.

In 1993 she left Bloynan who then died of a brain tumour and took up with Lynton – and the life that is revealed by the Claret Web pages. It seems I annoyed her talking about the past, and I am no longer in contact with her. She spoke briefly about having to leave everything behind and start a new life. She said there was money she owed but blamed Lynton for all of that, saying she had been naive to trust him. I gather he is also still trying to contact her.'
The email address I had was a shbt87@aim.com - it is no longer active. I contacted her by emailing LCCH (Malaysia) attention to her. She was not pleased.
There are several Sheila Menon's out there so the yahoo one could be one of them. The photo's on LCCH (Malaysia) web sites and their other advertising is the Sheila Menon I knew for over 16 years. I no longer have any emails from Sheila. The Sheila Menon in LCCH (Malaysia) is Aurora Menon from the Claret Web pages. I will try to read through and find the references she made to Lynton to get her wording right if it would help.'

At the time I nearly published Ian's concerns but could not be absolutely sure of Aurora/Sheila Menon's exact date of birth, so I held back. Although I did contact Tom Connelly, Secretary of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis, in 2008 but he was unable to find any record of an Aurora Menon ever having been a member of the organisation or of any name change for Sheila Menon.
Sheila's DOB has now been confirmed as 9th September 1959, Aurora Menon and Sheila Menon share the same DOB.Furthermore it has been recently confirmed from Malaysia that Sheila Menon, like Aurora, once had a rock star boyfriend and suffered from a debilitating illness.

Following complaints by clients and business partners Sheila Menon is now under investigation by AHPM (The Association of Hypnotheraphy Practitioners, Malaysia).

While Sheila has changed her names, Lynton Guest stuck with his. Instead he has a flexible date of birth: always 28th November but a selection of years! For his directorship of Ashley White Ltd Guest opted for 1950, his birth year for the Love Affair is 1951, while the Guest director of Harley Fine Wines Ltd chose to be born in 1957. Perhaps Lynton Guest found running wine investment scams rejuvenating!
I suspect that Lynton Guest was born in 1951 rather than the two dates he gave Companies House when forming the two scam companies that were closed in the public interest.
